“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever…it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.”
Photography has been a part of my DNA since high school. A great many seasons has passed since I purchased my first camera, an old Nikon F workhorse. In the beginning, I was fascinated by the science of photography – the ability to capture an image in my camera then make it visible by using a few simple chemicals. I’ve taught myself how to process both black & white and color negatives, transparencies and prints.
Photography was always played a major, albeit secondary, role in my life as I perused a military career. I’ve accumulated over 27 years of service in the US Coast Guard and US Air Force. Upon retiring from the Air Force, I was able to once again focus on perusing my true passion – photography. Blessed to be able to put roots down in beautiful Black Forest, Colorado, my wife and I set out to remodel our home, making space for a dedicated studio.
Of all the genres of photography, I enjoy portraiture the most. I love getting to know and interacting with my clients. It’s rewarding knowing I’ve played some small part in capturing significant milestones in their lives – whether it be a birth, graduation, wedding, or a family reunion. I’m pleased to be able to call many of my clients, my personal friends.
I maintain a very busy lifestyle, both in the studio and out. I continue to restore our daughters live nearby along with my grandson. And when I’m not doting over them, you’ll probably find me hiking or cycling, or getting back to nature in the garden.
